The Brandywine Zoo is looking for committed high school sophomores or juniors to fill a select number of openings for the 2022 Conservation Leadership Academy. This new program offers teens a chance to “level up” within our VolunTEEN (volunteer) Program by:\
- Engaging with a school, church, club, or other group on a program-long community-based conservation project or event of your own design\
- Expanding knowledge through monthly training sessions on topics including, but not limited to, biology, plastic pollution, human-wildlife conflict, diversity and inclusion and how they all interweave with conservation\
- Creating positive change monthly by participating in a range of service-learning and hands-on opportunities\
- Learning from and interacting with guest speakers from a variety of backgrounds\
- Mentoring younger teen docents at the zoo\
- Helping Brandywine Zoo raise funds for national and international conservation programs\
- Developing valuable skills for a career in conservation\
- Plus receive a $100 cash award at the completion of the program\
